Description

The Community Center program for seniors consisted mainly of a close-knit group of women and a few men. The program included bending and stretching exercises as well as discussions and quizzes on heart-healthy eating. Everyone enjoyed the classes, and the seniors are looking forward to the next session.

Performance Measures

Community Center Adults
Participant scores showed significant improvement in overweight/obesity knowledge. Moderate improvements were observed in heart-healthy eating knowledge, attitude, and behavior; overweight/obesity attitude; physical activity level, physical activity attitude, FIT score, and SIT score.
