The FunFit Healthy Steps class for adults focused primarily on aerobic activity. The women participated in dance aerobic classes with a certified instructor. The classes stressed various activities that can be done to lower their blood pressure and cholestrol. The results from the pre-test questionnaires revealed that most of the women had poor diets, and they lacked the appropriate knowledge to control high blood pressure and cholesterol. Also, many of the women were sedentary. After giving the women information targeting these topics, they began to incorporate these changes into their lives. The post-questionnaires showed positive results.
To promote Heart N' Parks to the community, we had a Fourth of July kickoff event with a pro football player as our guest of honor. In addition, the audience -- young and old -- participated in a fun aerobic dance called Wiggles.
