Youth Baseball 2 for teens and Summer Camp for children focused primarily on physical activity. Through sports such as kick ball, dodge ball, and swimming, as well as fitness instruction, the programs stressed that it can be fun to get in shape. At the beginning of the programs, staff noticed that while many of the youth knew what was good for them to eat, they still chose to eat items that were unhealthy. To help improve their eating habits, the youth learned how to prepare healthy snacks that tasted good. The participants generally enjoyed learning about this. In addition, participants in both programs received materials to promote healthy eating and physical activity.

Performance Measures
Summer Camp Children's scores showed significant improvement in heart-healthy eating knowledge and physical activity attitude, and moderate improvement in heart-healthy eating intention. One limitation, however, was that some of the younger children may have randomly circled answers to complete the questionnaires more quickly.
Youth Baseball 2 Significant improvements were observed in heart-healthy eating knowledge, overweight/obesity knowledge, heart-healthy eating attitude, overweight/obesity attitude, heart-healthy eating behavior, and heart-healthy eating intention.
Participants' physical activity level scores did not improve from pre- to post-questionnaire. This may be due to a high baseline level of involvement in sports and other physical activities.
