Golden Movement was a 4-month fitness class for seniors that also focused on heart-healthy eating and healthy lifestyles. Nutrition experts from the University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service and the local health department presented information to the seniors on a variety of subjects. The class topics included heart-healthy nutrition; heart disease, stroke, and heart attack signs; diabetes, high blood pressure, and high blood cholesterol. The seniors enjoyed the classes as well as the physical activities in which they participated. Many are expected to participate in the launch of the Healthy Points program this winter.
