Queen Anne's Co., MD—Adult Programs

Description

Walk Across Maryland was a 12-week program that aimed to improve the fitness levels of adults 50 years and older. At the kickoff ceremony, participants completed a pre-assessment form, had weight and blood pressure checked, ate lunch, and walked. Over the next 12 weeks, participants kept track of how far they walked each day, with pedometers and maps. Throughout the program, the participants received information on heart-healthy nutrition. At the end of the 12-week walking program, there was a closing ceremony in which the participants completed post assessments and had their blood pressure and weight checked again. Participants also received water bottles and T-shirts for completing the program.
