Rockford, IL—Youth Programs

Description

Both youth programs focused on physical activity and heart-healthy eating in an after-school educational setting. Children at the Washington Park Community Center program participated in CATCH games and weekly nutrition activities - including healthy snack art projects. Children in the Northwest Community Center Boys & Girls Club participated in a "boot camp" physical activity experience. The children also received education about healthy snacks. In addition, each week a group of participants prepared snacks for the other campers.
