Sierra Vista, AZ—Youth Programs

Description

The CATCH 4th grade curriculum book, "Taking Off," provided at this year's training, was used to teach the children about heart-healthy eating. The lesson about "Go, Slow, and Whoa" foods was particularly effective in teaching the children about foods that can be consumed any time, some of the time, and least often. The USDA Food Guide Pyramid and Power of Choice program were also used to teach children about heart-healthy eating. During "Good Snacks" theme week, the participants received healthy snacks.
