Marine Corps. - Kaneohe Bay, HI —Adult Programs


Description

The adult program consisted of Marines and sailors - many of whom were overweight. Participants received weekly presentations on topics such as heart-healthy nutrition, energy balance (calorie intake and output), body composition, and eating for optimal health and fitness. The participants also worked out at the fitness center three times per week.

Performance Measures

CSSG
Participant scores showed significant improvement in heart-healthy eating knowledge, overweight/obesity knowledge, high blood pressure knowledge, as well as FIT score. Heart-healthy eating attitude and behavior, and cholesterol knowledge also improved.
