Marine Corps. - Cherry Point, NC —Adult Programs


Description

Participants in the Walking Teams program used pedometers to measure distances walked and agreed that it was fun, motivating, and helpful. Other program activities included health screenings for high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and diabetes. Information on these topics was also distributed. In addition, participants had their body fat measured and body mass index (BMI) calculated. Overall, the participants found the health activities to be very informative.

Walking Teams
Significant improvement was observed in physical activity knowledge. Moderate improvement was observed in physical activity attitude, high blood pressure knowledge, cholesterol knowledge, and SIT score.
