Description
The adult (senior) program took place at three sites and included healthy lifestyles classes, chair aerobics, low impact aerobics, line dancing, and tap dancing. Partcipants received presentations on health topics while heart-healthy breakfasts and lunches were served. In addition, weekly e-mails were sent to participants containing heart-healthy information and/or a seasonal healthy recipe. Participants commented that this information was beneficial and educational.

Performance MeasuresCambridge Seniors Participant scores showed improvement in heart-healthy eating knowledge, overweight/obesity knowledge, heart-healthy eating attitude, overweight/obesity attitude, physical activity level, physical activity attitude, high blood pressure knowledge, cholesterol knowledge, FIT score, and SIT score.
West Flamingo Participants showed improvement in heart-healthy eating knowledge, overweight/obesity knowledge,
overweight/obesity attitude, heart-healthy eating behavior, physical activity level, physical activity attitude, physical activity knowledge, high blood pressure knowledge, cholesterol knowledge, and SIT score.
Cora Coleman Seniors Participant scores showed significant improvement in FIT score. Other improvements were observed in heart-healthy eating knowledge, overweight/obesity knowledge, physical activity attitude, physical activity knowledge, high blood pressure knowledge, cholesterol knowledge, and SIT score.
